How to pick an influencer

The benefits of influencer marketing in the modern business world are so apparent. However, it is a waste of money if you work with the wrong influencer.

Choosing an influencer

When choosing an influencer, it might seem easier for you to pick one based on their social media following alone. It is however equally important to consider other factors. Look out for the following things if you want to pick an influencer for your marketing campaign.

Relevance

You should choose an influencer that’s aligned with the products you want to promote. You can go through their posts to understand what they prefer. This is important because the audience of a given influencer is usually made of people that have common interests. This means that you will be promoting your product to people that have an interest in a similar product.

Engagement

The engagement rate of your influencer with their audience is important too. It shows how interested the audience is with the content that’s generated by the influencer. If the audience to that influencer comment, like and share the posts, then you can rest assured that the influencer will be of importance to your marketing campaign.

Reach

The reach of your influencer is certainly important too. You should desist from looking at the size of the audience that an influencer has. For example, if you specialize in fashion, it is better to pick an influencer with 5000 followers on Instagram compared to one with 20,000 followers on Facebook. The type of audience your influencer reaches is essential.

Frequency

The amount of traffic enjoyed by a blogger is directly proportional to the number of times the blogger posts content. Consumers are more likely to visit an influencers page if they are confident that they will have a new post. It is important to note that visitors take several encounters with your product for them to click on your site.
